Hi, my name is Lydia Wagner and I'm a web developer whose interests lie in efficient code, intuitive user interfaces, and making the internet more awesome in general.
You can download my resume here and see an overview of my work below (click, arrow key, or scroll your way through).
At The Adsmith I was responsible for overseeing all aspects of website buildout, from collaborating with the design team to managing development workload to adapting and skinning CMS platforms (Drupal, WordPress, ExpressionEngine) and devising custom features. I also fine-tuned SEO techniques, performed quality assurance and cross-browser compatibility updates on existing sites, and integrated dynamic scripting (JQuery/AJAX) and social media aspects into projects.
At Sugar, Inc., a startup with over 16 million monthly uniques, I worked with engineers and designers to create site features like RSS-feed-parsing widgets and customized
product review systems. I was the go-to person for theming and cross-browser compatibility, and my time spent tweaking and troubleshooting the Drupal framework that the site ran on gave me a strong handle on PHP and MySQL. I
also provided the editorial and marketing departments with online technical support.
I've done basic five-page HTML sites and I've also worked with CMS and eCommerce software such as Moveable Type and Magento.
As a student web designer and interim web master at the University of Iowa Memorial Union I worked with departments and student groups to create and update accessible and standards-compliant websites. I also helped maintain the IMU website by photographing images, creating graphics, and updating content.
